Why do I need a lawyer to incorporate?
Updated: Mar 10, 2019
You can incorporate yourself or use a non-lawyer service. There are some things that only lawyers with experience incorporating businesses know, however. For example, if you go into business with your mother, and you are 50/50, then you have a disagreement with your mother, as one does, then you have no way to resolve this dispute without litigation. A lawyer with experience can guide you through a Buy-Sell Agreement that kicks in if there is a dispute. The trick is, you need it upfront, not once the dispute arises.
